History

WNC Madison County Housing Corp., dba Madison County Group Home, was established 1986 in Hot Springs, North Carolina, and began operation in September, 1988. It is a 501 C3 Group Home and is served by a volunteer Board of Directors.

The purpose of the home is to give training to adults with intellectual developmental disabilities in self-help skills so they can learn to be as independent as possible. The home serves six intellectual developmental disabled adults and operates on a 24/7-day week basis.

Our core values are Integrity, Commitment, Quality, Safety, Health, Empowerment, Community, and Partnership.

Our vision is that each of the consumers we serve will have the opportunity to reach their highest potential within the restriction of their disability. That the consumers’ families will be satisfied, knowing that their family member is in a safe and comfortable environment. That staff will feel appreciated and rewarded for their commitment. That members of our community will understand and respect the role of the Madison County Group Home.
